It’s been a really strange year so far. Casting a certain gloom over my days has been the abundance of rain. I realise I’m not made of salt, but neither do I want to be soaked to the skin in cold and damp.
This month, though, the clouds have begun to lift, illuminating the most glorious alterations in the landscape. The native vegetation where I life is largely drab, sturdy stuff that can tolerate and survive minimal precipitation. There are many plants I barely notice as they generally look like weeds and have thorns.
It’s shocking to the system to see the riot of color that has sprung from those prickly plants!
The sheer audacity of the scrubby plants displaying the most delicate and inviting beauty has become an inspiration to me. I have embarked on a new project, you can see if you wander over to the Crochet Corner.
